Just some thoughts….

November 3rd, 2008

These are just a few different little things that I try and believe when it feels like the world won’t be able to get sorted out before chaos hits ……

-that the sensations and emotions brought about through being in the proximity of nature could override every persuasive technique ever used to promote something that just made no sense at all - envionmentally, socially or economically.  This would mean a glimpse of the real stars, the sea, dirt, trees, river  - whatever, and your mind would want to do everything in its power to protect these assets.

-that industries (and institutions) that are not sustainable could acknowledge this (it isn’t always their fault as things have changed since the time they started - things have been discovered), then we would need a way of helping them make drastric transformations to put their resources, organisation and power to good

-that we would teach our kids to keep wondering rather than stop them from asking “why” (although I admitt that this can get annoying at times)

-that having a family didn’t make people more selfish (by selfish I mean that people start to do everything so they can do the “best” for their family (which includes themself)) - the world can become insignificant when you place a phenomenal amount of value on just a couple of earthlings.

What little changes in sentiments, priorities or institutional systems do you think might help us get out of the mess we’re in.
